Diet Fish in Questions

Can a diet of fish change your breasts? A few months ago, I started eating more fish because I heard it was good for you. I eat fish and salad for lunch 5 days a week, and steamed/grilled fish and vegetables for dinner 2-3 nights a week.

I've lost weight and my skin is really glowing, and I do feel healthier.

However, the weird thing is that my breasts have changed as well. They're not any bigger, but they are rounder, fuller and heavier.

I can't think what else could have changed them except the fish diet - is there something in fish that can affect your hormones or something?

Sierra M replied: "The fish have laid eggs in your boobies o.O

Well, it's probably your skin becoming healthier and tighter and just the healthiness of it all. Healthiness."

How much weight will I lose if I follow this diet? Fish, fruits and vegetables? So eat a variety of fruits (dried and fresh,) vegetables (steamed and fresh,) and fish. Then include exercise 4-5 times a week. I am 15, 137 pounds 5"7, how much do you think I will lose. And also like once to twice a times a week I wont follow this diet, it will be my cheat days but i wont like stuff myself and try to still eat pretty healthy foods. okay thanks :)

cha yano replied: "about 2lbs a week (lbs = pounds)

it depends really on how much exercise ur doing and how big ur portions of food are + also on ur own body but should be around 2lbs (:"

TotalRecipeHound replied: "I would consider also adding a cereal grain at least once a day, say oatmeal for breakfast. At 15, you will feel TIRED without it, while a 30 year old probably would not (metabolism and activity level is typically less)."

folladj replied: "Add in some whole grains, and you've got yourself a pretty healthy diet. However, fish does have a lot of fat (healthy fats, but still), so you may want to have chicken as another leaner option.

If you find the line between stuffing yourself and becoming too hungry, and you stay satisfied, I'd say 1-2 pounds a week.

Good luck!"

xaxorm replied: "That depends on how much you eat, how much you weigh now and a brazillion other things, including your genetics and your metabolism. There is no exact numerical calculation that enables us to predict how much weight can be lost through diet.

You may even gain weight, if you gain strength and lose fat.
Anyway, you don't need too much fruit, add lean meat, definitely eat fish, lots of water. And don't bother with cheat days."

Josh replied: "yeah Sweety, u can Lose weight about a lot. sweety its Dependent with your work.Be confident at everything and do it, I think in the way I'm confident that can Gain whatever you wants with confidence.
If u like my advice and be partners bey z way I'm 16."

I hate vegetables, most fruit and fish..What diet that is easy to follow could I start to lose weight? I hate vegetables, fish, and most fruits. I usually eat fast food because I dont have alot of money to buy alot of foods for popular diets..what can I do diet wise that is cheap, easy to follow and doesnt contain alot of vegetables or fish?

workoutbuddy replied: "fish is probably the best food for you."

bjay_269 replied: "make some fresh smoothies. you may like the taste if its not just straight fruit.
um.. oatmeal? yogurt.. brown rice, chicken.

i don't really know what else sorry!!
um just exercise more?"

RockNRoll replied: "Well, you have to eat healthy if you want to lose weight and keep it off. So that includes fruits and vegetables. You say you don't like those but the think is that your taste buds can change in 20 days. So, if you start out eating something you may not be thrilled about today, you may grow to like it 20 days later. There are many diets out there that involve only eating one kind of food or another. However, think about it. If you only eat one kind of food for months and lose a bunch of weight, what happens when you go back to eating like you did before? The weight comes back. Not to mention that it's not good for you. There is the Atkins diet that involves eating no carbs and only meat and protein. You'd probably like that one. However, again, how long can you completely cut out carbs for? Probably not for the rest of your life. My advice would be to eat a balanced diet, but cut your portions in half. Also eat smaller meals more frequently, and exercise. You don't have to spend a lot of money either. Pasta is cheap. And fruits and vegetables don't add up to much more than eating McDonalds and TV dinners on a regular basis."

Л™puД±ЙЇ uКЌo s,Зќuo replied: "Forget about 'dieting', that's the worst thing you can do.

Incorporate wholemean/grain/spelt breads or pastas into your foods, rather than white. White turns to sugar in your body, and is one of the main factors of being overweight.

Don't eat meals. Just because it's night, it doesn't mean you have to eat dinner. ONLY eat when you're hungry, and never eat past the first feeling of being full, even if you've got food left over.

Eat nuts, dried fruit, carob(alternative to chocolate) and small things like that for snacks."

Miami Lilly replied: "You really need to start eating right...and yes, that means eating vegetables. It's time you outgrew being picky. If not to help your weight, than to help you become healthy. You cannot be healthy if you don't eat any vegeatbles and fruit. They have vitamins, antioxidants, and important nutrients your body needs.

I suggest trying one new vegetable a week. And one fruit too. If you don't hate it, try it again. You may become used to it. If your mom started you eating these foods as a toddler, you wouldn't be struggling now. So it's time to introduce new foods to your diet on your own. There are tons of wonderful fruits and veggies that taste great. You just need to experiment.

AS for the fish, hey..I don't really like it either. You can try shell fish which is sweeter, and less "fishy" tasting. And take a fish oil supplement daily."

mansionghost replied: "try the Lil Jack workout It heps alot"

Natalie Taylor replied: "I was able to continue eating normally & still lost weight. Read my story here:"

CoffeeCafe replied: "I don't know of a diet that doesn't incorporate those foods, however I know of 2 cookbooks that I use daily that hide veggies and fruits (along with whole grains) into foods you regularly love.

Take a can of spaghettios for example. You can add sweet potato, carrots, cauliflower, and zucchini to it without even tasting it.(These are pureed) See the resource link. They are by the Sneaky Chef and she wrote the books to hide healthy food into her kids food (even brownies and pudding!!) and her husband. Her website has some free recipes to try out.

For the whole fish thing, I personally hate fish and just take a fish oil supplement a few times a week."

Is it okay for my cat to have a 100% fish diet? My cat has fallen in love with Whiskas' Purrrfectly Fish meals but hates the chicken and beef flavors. I love the fact that these meals come in pouches (No more recycling cans of cat food!), they're not so expensive and they seem to be high quality food. But it is okay if I just feed my cat fish for the rest of her life? Are there any health concerns with a 100% fish diet?

offended replied: "Cats are carnivores, it's fine. Plus it gives them awesome fish breath."

DTortie replied: "Whiskas is actually a very poor quality food. Look into brands like Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold. Actually, Wellness makes pouches and they're a very, very high quality diet. They come in many flavors and I think your cats will like them. They are probably more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't suggest an all fish diet. Check out this site:. It'll give you a lot of insight as to why you don't want to feed your cats that much fish.

Hope I could help, good luck with your cats!"

rrm38 replied: "Honestly, if you're feeding her Whiskas, fish is the least of your concerns. Whiskas is actually one of the worst cat foods on the market. It's pure junk.

Cats are obligate carnivores. That means they need lots of protein. Foods like Whiskas, as well as most other commercially prepared foods, are full of grains and carbs which are horrible for them. Cats simply aren't designed to eat grains. I recommend that you ditch the Whiskas altogether and switch to a high protein grain-free food. Wellness Core and Innova are excellent brands to consider. Please, whatever you do, don't feed your cat Whiskas or anything else that can be bought at a grocery or discount store."

MJF replied: "It's better if your cat has a variety of foods, however if it's a commercial food, then it should be nutritious enough for your cat to remain healthy.
Perhaps you could try giving is some raw chicken occasionally (most cats like it), and even some raw beef, just to supplement.
Fish itself is not really a natural part of a cat's diet - cats hate water - so how would a wild cat catch a fish?? But, so long as it's getting the nutrients it needs (which are added by the cat food manufacturers), if it just won't eat anything else, I don't think it will cause any problems."

Ocimom replied: "NO NO NO NO. That's is why I rarely give our cats fish. They get fresh fish that we cook for ourselves - but never the canned fish cat food.

Male cats can have problems with urinary infections if fed too much fish.

I would take away all fish and try chicken, beef, venison, duck, lamb in the Max Cat, Wellness, Natural Balance, or Iams canned foods."

Calamity Jane replied: "Would be better if you also gave him/her complete food to make sure he/her is getting all the vits/mins. Fish is good but too much of anything isn't good or varied."

marci_knows_best replied: "Absolutely not! Fish is not a natural food for cats, and should only be given occasionally. Cats in the wild rarely eat fish. Since many would turn their noses up at Sparrow cat food, chicken or turkey is a better choice. Whiskas is marginally good, over priced food, I prefer Wellness, Merrick or Avoderm."

Hayley K replied: "No it is not ok. Your cat needs a bit of dry food. If your cat keeps on having fish there will be no dry food or "Varieties" of different food. It is good for your cat once in a while like once or twice a week. Make sure there's no bones!"

theshadowknows replied: "Actually, Whiskas foods are not a very good quality food.
Some cats like fish and some do not.

There was a study done recently that suggested health issues by feeding a lifelong diet of fish to cats.

I adopted my first cat when she was 1 y/o. I quickly discovered that she loved fish and did not like chicken, turkey, beef or the other meat flavors. So we fed her Fancy Feast canned fish cat food her entire life. She was never sick or even missed a meal in her 21 years of living with us.

I say if they like fish, give it to them."

Percy-and-Penny replied: ""Seem to be" high quality food? According to whom? Whiskas is GARBAGE. And fish is VERY bad to feed to your cats - A better quality food made with chicken would be MUCH healthier for your cat.

Not sure why you think it's good that the food comes in pouches. The pouches aren't recyclable and therefore end up in a landfill forever. The cans are recyclable and hence can be used for more products. Is rinsing out a cat food cat once or twice a day REALLY that much of a chore to you?"

Is there a diet with fish and chicken and alot of fruit? I am 19,im 5'1 and i weigh 162.I hate my body.Im not happy with the weight.Im going to Flordia in 5 months.I have found a few diets that SEEM like they are ok.BUT there only juices. And no food.Is there any diet out there with fish, chicken and alot of fruit

pendarvisr replied: "Basically, no diet alone will do it. You really need to look into a good exercise program with an emphasis on cardiovascular training."

Is a diet of only fish and fruits a good idea? Pretty much all I like to eat is halibut, salmon, tuna, delicious apples, and raspberries.,,is that healthy? Instead of the raw diet, if I eat fish as well?

iShotThePilot replied: "I don't think thats bad - you're probably missing out on nutrients that you're "supposed" to have, but really, you're having meat and fruit thats pretty good to me."

Karma replied: "You should use Acomplia, it is the best about it you can get information from here"

Johnny Stewart replied: "Hi ....

Want to lose weight...
Of course your right..
great idea...
you can do that
but please make it sure that those food that you want to eat are low in FATS..ok?"

Katei replied: "this is pretty much my diet, and its okay but high in sugar. here's how to fix it:

morning- have 2 egg whites scrambled with chopped onion and salsa
or
a piece of whole grain sarah lee 45 calorie bread with traderjoes lower sugar blueberry jam
or
a cup of blueberries with a spoon of non fat plain yogurt
or
a tangerine and a cup of hot tea and a teaspoon of honey

afternoon- a banana
or
a cup of veggie soup
or
a rice cake
or
a few cups of hot tea

evening- one or two cups of steamed veggies with spices and sea salt. a serving of fish or any kind of seafood. two spoons of a grain, like whole grain couscous or pasta, but really only about 3 tablespoons or 2 dinner spoons full.

if your last meal of the day is filling enough, you won't be tempted to continue eating throughout the night.

take a vitamin every day and drink water as much as possible."

cyn_texas replied: "Can't imagine it being enough calories, not enough essential fats, proteins converted to fuel, so no protein bioavailable to body. Without fat, vitamins & minerals are not bioavailable to body either.

If you eat only meats without fuel calories from fats or carbs, then you convert dietary protein to fuel leaving no protein for cellular needs, forcing the body to catabolize it's own lean tissues. Carbs may be optional, but fuel calories are not but they can come from fat or carbs, but not protein.

Protein is a very inefficient fuel to use exclusively for long term & the byproducts of the conversion to fuel can be dangerous if they overwhelm the body faster than the body can clear out the nitrogen & ammonia.

Just for example - Someone asked "what if" about a diet of 500g of pure protein (2000 calories a day)

500g protein with no fat would be fatal. Fat is essential but protein without fat will cause diarrhea & then death. So this next bit is only hypothetically speaking.

500g of protein only would turn the protein into a fuel source and not be able to be used for tissue repairs & cellular regeneration. So although you would think 500g of protein would be sufficient for these needs, it would be converted to a very inefficient fuel source with a dangerous buildup of nitrogen & ammonia (byproducts of gluconeogenesis). The body can handle some of these byproducts but not large quantities for long term. So in essence, all this protein would be processed as fuel and the body would STILL have to catabolize it's own lean tissues for a protein source. 100% of the protein would be needed to convert to 58% glucose - it would be equal to fueling the body with 1160 calories of carbs and NO protein (IF your only ingestion was 2000 calories (500g) in pure protein).

It's confusing to eat SO much protein and have none bioavailable but your body requires FUEL calories (which can come from fat OR carbs or both) AND protein.

BUT if you ate more than sufficient protein with more than sufficient dietary fat calories AND controlled carbs to less than 9grams per hour. (Maximum carbs would be 144grams day or 576 calories - the balance of fuel calories would HAVE to be from dietary fats - at 9 calories per gram)
As long as you have <9grams carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control & shouldn't gain weight, no matter the calories because insulin, the fat storage hormone is not activated. Controlling insulin levels will balance out other hormones & allow sex hormones (testosterone in males) & human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so lean tissue will be gained even without exercise.

from the article below -

Numerous current studies show that dieters who follow high-protein low-carb strategies--even plans with higher fat intake--lose more fat and maintain or gain more muscle mass than dieters who rely on higher carb diets.

Yes, you read that right--many dieters actually gained muscle mass without working out, simply by eating a high-protein diet. This is due to several factors. First, amino acids from protein drive muscle growth. When you consume a high-protein meal, amino acids from the protein travel to muscle cells and actually initiate the processes that cause muscle growth.

How can I put my pet fish on a diet? my mom over feeds my fish. she feeds them multiple times a day, every day.
they are extremely obese, as obese as a fish can get.
I am worried they will suffer impaction, swim bladder disease and other complications.

How can I "diet" my fish?? I love my fish, I don't want them to die.

I have betta fish and cory cats.

Kylie Anne replied: "tell her to stop feeding them so much. feed once a day or a very small amount twice a day and skip one day a week. they'll look normal soon enough, fish don't lose fat like people do, they just need to pass the extra food in them"

Emily replied: "they should be fed once a day from now on. Feed them twice when they return to normal."

catx replied: "As Kylie said, fish don't get fat like we do, that "fat" they're showing is almost definitely a result of gut compaction.

Tell your mom to stop feeding the fish, hide the fish food. Do not feed your fish at all for a few days and make sure their water quality is immaculate. Then feed them all a little cooked de-shelled pea if they'll take it - this acts as a fish laxative.

If they go back to looking "normal" you can then resume feeding them BUT say only once a day, and skipping a day entirely once a week."

How much weight did ReneГ© Zellwegger loose every week on her fish diet she done? It's nearly Christmas and im going to do her diet and i want to know how much weight i am going to loose every week.

big puffy shoes replied: "Don't look towards celebrities for their weight loss secrets.

Just eat healthy and exercise."

What is the likeliness of me getting mercury poisoning if eat a heavy fish diet? Like eating fish for at least one meal a day.

jp replied: "lets say 1 in a million."

Dr. K replied: "It depends on what fish you eat. Fresh water fish are very likely to be polluted and not safe to eat in general. Deep sea fish is safer although you want a relatively younger fish. Older fish like tuna and swordfish, can accumulate mercury and other toxins over time. You can eat older fish, just restrict those to 1-2 a week."

Jenny replied: "I highly doubt one fish meal a day will do that. But, too much of one thing can never be good. Why don't you shoot for a couple times a week? Fish does have benefits."

chai! replied: "well it depends on the fish, you gotta watch tuna.
but if u eat salmon then tuna then mahi mahi then grouper, well, u get the idea, u should be fine"

Phate replied: "The mercury in fish deal has been over exaggerated greatly, i have been having 1-2 cans of chunk lite tuna for many months now, and my mercury levels are normal. If you are really paranoid about mercury, stick to low mercury fishes like chunk lite, etc."

JavaJoe replied: "Very low. The health risks of eating tuna are very exagerated provided you're not pregnant or breastfeeding.

I would say that eating fish once a day is okay provided it's not more than a month at a time.

Like most things in life, moderation is key."

nutritionist replied: "fish is rich source of high quality protein, minerals, vitamins. so if a person is having variety of type of fish in normal pattern it will never put any one in risk of mercury poisoning. but if you will take a particular type of fish everyday it can create some problems.

mercury occur naturally in environment - water, air and fish absorb it from water through their gill. that's why all fishes contain some amt. of mercury.FDA has approved 1ppm methylmurcury is safer range in fishes.

avoid swordfish and shark as they contain highest amt of methyle mercury.(once in 10 days is acceptable)

most famous fishes- salmon, tuna, cod , shrimp, crabs , catfish all contain approximate 0.2ppm methylemurcury its too less. but if you are having it in excess it can cause poisoning.

have a nice day"

can a fire bellied toad survive on an all guppy (or other feeder fish) diet? i want a fire bellied toad but cannot stand crickets and wouldn't even be able to feed it mice. could they live on an all fish diet along with frozen bloodworms?

RAWR replied: "from what i read it says you should only feed them live food b/c they recognize dead food and wont eat it(so i dont know if the frozen worms will work) i read its good to feed them gut loaded crickets and you can feed them many different types of worms along with guppy fish (not the fancy kind) hope this helps"

dreminon replied: "you might be able to get them to live on that diet it would be very hard thou. I own 2 fire bellied toads and they have about 10 gal of water area to swim in with guppies in it. very rarely do they eat the guppies. you would have to get them and train them to eat from something like tweezers. to go all fish diet. much easier to just get a large cricket keeper. dump crickets in top of keeper. when time to feed pull out a tube sprinkle dust (calcium dust) in tube. knock tube in cage. crickets where my wife's worry with them as well. she does not even have a problem with feeding them this way."
